Twice Baked Team

Allison Walmer
Allison Walmer is not only the main inspiration for the name “Twice Baked Barrel Horses,” she is also 1/2 of the main duo that started the brand and works every day to make it a success. Although they didn’t have horses was she was small, Allison was bestowed her horse crazy ways by her mother, Kristy, from a young age. She started riding horses with friends because lessons were too boring. By the time she was in high school she asked her parents if she could get a horse and they said, “Fine, as long as you buy it and pay for everything.” It was all the permission she needed to pour all of her time and money into whatever horse she could afford – typically sale barn “specials” like Twice Baked Flagship Horse – Sunny.
Allison earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Sociology. She has always had a passion for equine body mechanics, nutrition, and other scientific studies related to horse ownership and maintenance. She is a former Veterinary Technician well-versed in clinical and farm medicine. She became a Certified Equine Massage Therapist from Delaware Valley University in 2022, and a Certificate in using Equine Kinesiology Tape in 2024. Allison provides her healing touch to all the horses of Twice Baked. She believes that that every horse deserves a second chance, and that horses don’t act out for no reason. Every horse should be vetted, have proper dentistry, maintenance, and clear and consistent communication from their riders.
Allison main contributions to the Twice Baked Team are as: colt starter, barrel trainer, soundness and health evaluation and management, massage therapist, k taper, and hot-weather super trooper. She started it all with the original “reject” horse and continues to work magic with all the horses of Twice Baked.

John Walmer
John Walmer, aka “Corn Dog Johnny,” is a reluctant participant in the horse life, having only stumbled into it unwittingly and having no idea what he was getting himself into when he started dating Allison. When he fell in love with her, his fate was sealed and the former military man turned engineer entered willingly into a marriage to Allison . . . along with all her horses and dogs. John is currently pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science, and puts his many technical skills to good use at Twice Baked.
His main portfolios include: IT specialist, web design, social media consultant, and home support. At some point Ringo will get Corn Dog on a horse again, Allison has given up trying but Ringo is more stubborn and thinks Corn Dog has what it takes to add conditioning and grooming to his list of support roles at Twice Baked.

Kristy Kraynak
Kristy Walmer Kraynak comes to Twice Baked with the most years of equine expertise and experience of anyone on the team. Kristy’s bachelor’s degree is in Equine Science from Findlay College – 1982 from back in the days when Dale Wilkinson, Clarke Bradley and Chuck Smith were instructors. While her first love is Western Reining, she learned to barrel race in 2024 aboard one of Twice Baked Flagship Horses – Sunny. She competes locally in jackpots, NBHA, and IBRA shows, often snagging some nice checks in the Senior and Master’s classes. After boarding her horses for most of her life, Kristy was eager to help John and Allison along the road to purchasing Twice Baked’s Pennsylvania Branch – Three Walmers Farm. Together they achieved this life-long dream and reality in 2023. She is also a lifelong athlete. She has been in the gym daily since her early 20’s and a personal trainer since 2003. She has been successful in bodybuilding (2009 IFBB Maryland Women’s all around bodybuilding champion) powerlifting (holding 2 world records) and played rugby casually. Her philosophy with strength training and barrel racing is that you train for sport specific, muscle memory type of exercises as well as auxiliary muscles and movements to aid your balance and performance on horseback.
The invaluable services Kristy provides at Twice Baked are: human-centered fitness coach and personal trainer, branch manager, fecal management expert, conditioning support, and home support. Kristy passed on her love of all things horse to her daughter, Allison. Without Kristy’s influence, Allison would never have found the refuge and sanctity of the horse-human bond and there would be no Twice Baked.

Madeline Kochen
Dr. Madeline Sara Kochen (BA, MA, JD, PhD) came to the horse industry through her marriage to Ringo. When they met in 2010 and Ringo said “Someday I will have horses again and we’ll have to move somewhere where we can have them and I’m going to barrel race again,” Madeline didn’t really believe her. What’s more, she had no idea what barrel racing even was. A published author, former law professor, and lawyer with a PhD from Harvard, Madeline is also a life-long animal lover. The couple adopted and rehabilitated dogs and cats for years before moving to Maryland and rescuing a horse and a pony mule. She has since learned everything there is to know about keeping all the equines alive while Ringo is out for days and weeks at a time at races. Madeline has also learned how to ride and thoroughly enjoys long meandering trail rides along the Potomac River near the farm.
Madeline has been active with the horses from the moment they arrived at Twice Baked Barrel Horses – Southern Maryland Branch. Her roles at Twice Baked include: legal services, branch management, insect management, conditioning support, and home support. Madeline is the heart and soul behind all of Ringo’s successes; without her there would be no Twice Baked.

Ringo Vine
Annie Ringo Vine – better known as Ringo Vine to friends and strangers – was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota on Jinx Acres Horse Farm. Her parents, Dave and Mary (nee Priebe) bred, owned, and trained Appaloosa champions in disciplines as varied as Western Driving, Halter, Hunt Seat Equitation, Barrel Racing, and other speed events. Mary was brought up training and showing gaited horses (American Saddlebreds & Hackneys) with her father and brothers at Priebe Stock Farm.
Ringo began barrel racing on her own at the age of three. Although her mother pushed her to be an all-around equestrian and forced her to do everything from showmanship to western pleasure to trail classes, she really only ever had eyes for speed events. Mary signed her up for Little Britches Rodeo when she was nine years old and there was no turning back. She excelled at goat tying and barrels, but also was handy in the pole pattern. In those formative years she competed in local saddle club shows (WSCA), Little Britches, High School Rodeo, NBHA shows, PRCA Rodeos, and Appaloosa breed shows. After college she hung up her cowboy hat and traveled the world, spending two years in Zambia, Africa with the Peace Corps, working as an elementary school teacher with Teach for America, working in the hotel industry, going to law school, and finally dedicating her professional life to working for the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security. Ringo couldn’t resist the horse life forever though and forced Madeline to move to Maryland and buy StuBen Farm (The Twice Baked Barrel Horses – Southern Maryland Branch) in 2019. Shortly thereafter she acquired Spud, and the rest is history.
Ringo’s main roles at Twice Baked are as follows: horse conditioning expertise, seasoning young and restarted horses on the barrel pattern, creative genius, and keeping everything light and making everyone laugh with a foul sailor’s mouth she comes by honestly from her days at Jinx Acres with her mom and dad.
